FEATURES OF THE MD10 The CLARKE MD10 is a portable, hand held metal detector intended to be used for security inspection in airports, schools, courthouses, prisons, stadiums and entertainment places. It can detect concealed weapons such as knives or other metal objects in baggage, postal parcels or under clothing.

PREPARATION FITTING THE BATTERY 1. Release the battery cover retaining screw before lifting the cover and pulling it backwards. Install one 9V alkaline battery type PP3 or equivalent, connecting it to the battery clip. 3. Replace the cover and tighten the screw. ADJUSTING THE SENSITIVITY Insert the tip of a small screwdriver though the Sensitivity Adjustment apperture. Slowly rotate the SENS control clockwise to increase (or counter- clockwise to decrease) the sensitivity until both audio and visual alarms signal continuously, before easing off slightly. Position a suitable target in front of the detector and adjust until the target is reliably detected.
