Problem
Espresso cofee does not low out
Espresso cofee drips from the edges of
the ilter-holder instead of through the
holes
Loud pump noise
The cofee crema is dark (cofee lows
slowly from the spout)
The cofee has an acidic lavour
The espresso cofee is cold
The milk does not froth when making a
cappuccino
Possible causes
There is no water in the tank
The holes in the ilter-holder are blocked
The espresso boiler outlet is blocked
The ilter-holder is not correctly inserted
or is dirty
The espresso boiler gasket has lost
elasticity or it is dirty
The holes in the ilter-holder spout are
blocked
At irst use there is air in the system
The water tank is empty
The tank is inserted incorrectly and the
valve on the bottom is not open
The ground cofee is pressed too tightly
There is too much ground cofee
The espresso boiler outlet is blocked
The ilter is blocked
The cofee is ground too inely
The ground cofee is too ine or is moist
Incorrect type of ground cofee
Cofee is too strong
Rinsing after descaling was not suicient Repeat rinsing (see page 11)
The
light is not on when the button
is pressed
Pre-heating has not been carried out
The milk is not cold enough
The cappuccino maker is dirty

Troubleshooting

Solution
Fill the water tank
Clean the holes in the ilter-holder spouts
Clean as indicated in the "Cleaning"
paragraph
Attach the ilter-holder correctly and turn
it fully until it is irmly engaged
Contact De'Longhi Customer Experience
in order to replace the espresso boiler
gasket
Clean the holes in the ilter-holder spouts
Carry out the "irst use" cycle (see page 4)
Fill the tank
Press the tank lightly to open the valve
on the bottom
Tamper the cofee less
Reduce the amount of ground cofee
Clean as indicated in the "Cleaning"
