Removing the Hard Drive

 
CAUTION:
If you are replacing a hard drive that contains data that you want to keep, back up your files before you begin this procedure.
 
1. Follow the procedures in

2. Remove the computer cover (see
 
3. Disconnect the power cable and the data cable from the hard drive.
 
4. Remove the four screws that secure the hard drive to the drive panel.
 
CAUTION:
Ensure that you do not scratch the hard drive's circuit board, while removing or replacing the hard drive.
 
5. Slide the hard drive out towards the back of the computer.
