Replacing the WiFi card module

Attention:
Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the "Important safety information"
on page 1.
This section provides instructions on how to replace the WiFi card module.
Note: The WiFi card module is only available in some models.
To replace the WiFi card module, do the following:
1. Turn off the computer and disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets.
2. Remove the computer cover. See "Removing the computer cover" on page 77.
3. Remove the hard disk drive bracket. See "Replacing the hard disk drive bracket" on page 107.
4. Locate the WiFi card module on the system board. See "Locating FRUs and CRUs" on page 69.
5. Disconnect the WiFi antenna cable from the WiFi card module and remove the two screws that secure
the WiFi card module to the system board.

Note: Depending on your computer model, the WiFi card module that comes with your computer
might have two cables.
