Appliance Preparation

A. Top Vent
CAUTION! Risk of Cuts, Abrasions or Flying Debris.
Wear protective gloves and safety glasses during instal-
lation. Sheet metal edges are sharp.
NOTICE: Once appliance is set up for top or rear venting,
it CANNOT be changed at a later time.
Figure 9.1 Remove the elbow heat shield by removing
the four screws holding it to the top of the appliance. Re-
fer to Section 6B to determine if the elbow heat shield is
required.
Figure 9.2 Cut the metal retaining band and fold the sides
out.

NOTICE: Once the vent cap has been removed it CANNOT
be reattached.
Figure 9.3 Fold the center parts of the retaining band up
and use to remove the vent cap.
Figure 9.4 Remove and discard the seal cap, insulation
donut, insulation plug, and the insulation basket. Attach the
fi rst vent section (it will snap into place). Slide the vent
gasket onto the vent section and then, up against the ap-
pliance. Secure the vent gasket to the appliance with two
self-tapping screws found in the manual bag. Note: The
vent gasket can found in the manual bag.
Proceed to Section 9. C.
