Note that the utility allows Powerline devices to co-exist with HomePlug devices. HomePlug
devices cannot be included in a Powerline network, and so they cannot communicate with each
other directly. However, devices on a Powerline network can communicate with devices on a
HomePlug network if both networks are connected to a router, router/modem, or gateway device.
The following diagram shows a typical mixed Powerline and HomePlug configuration.

Set Your Network ID
The fastest and most reliable way to set the network ID is to set the ID for all devices at once.
1. Make sure that all Powerline devices are plugged into AC power outlets.
2. If you have not already done so, start the HDX101 Configuration Utility and ensure that the
Main tab is selected.
