The Gigaset PCI Card 54 The Gigaset PCI Card 54 The Gigaset PCI Card 54 (named Gigaset WLAN-Adapter in the following sections) is an IEEE 802.11g wireless LAN PCI card. You can use it to connect your computer to a wireless network and collectively use resources such as files or printers. -

Glossary Glossary Access Point An Access Point, such as the Gigaset SE505 dsl/cable, is the centre of a wireless local network (WLAN). It handles the connection of the wireless linked network components and regulates the data traffic in the wireless network. The Access Point also serves as an interface to other networks, e.g. - Page 69 Encryption protects confidential information against unauthorised access. With an encryption system data packets can be sent securely over a network. The Gigaset PCI Card 54 and the Gigaset PCI Card 54 can use WEP encryption for secure data transmission over wireless networks.
