Data call and fax call barring (network service)

Call barring allows you to restrict the making and receiving of calls. To modify these settings, you need the barring password
from your service provider.
To prevent or allow certain data or fax call types, select
Define the following:
Outgoing
calls — When activated, calls cannot be made.
Incoming
calls — When activated, calls cannot be received.
International
calls — When activated, calls cannot be made to other countries or regions.
Incoming calls when
abroad — When activated, calls cannot be received when you are outside your home country.
International except home
make international calls abroad, except to your home country.
To check the current status of a barring option, select
option, and press
Check
status.
To cancel all data or fax call barrings, select

Wireless LAN

To view the status of the wireless LAN connection, select
connection status, network name, and connection security and quality.
To view information on networks, wireless LAN access points, or ad hoc networks, select

Networks
page. In the
• Networks — Select this to view the all the wireless LAN networks that can be accessed, and the signal strength of that
network.
Access
points — Select this to view the wireless LAN access points that are currently in range and available, and the radio
frequency channel they are using.
Ad hoc
networks — Select this to view available ad hoc networks.
To view details on EAP (extensible authentication protocol) security modules, select
the
Security
page. The page contains a list of the installed EAP modules that are used in a wireless LAN to relay port access
requests between wireless devices, wireless LAN access points, and authentication servers. Select a module, and press
details. Each of these modules can be modified together with Internet access points.

Specifying wireless LAN settings

You can change settings that are common to all wireless LAN connections.
To modify general wireless LAN settings, select
Define the following:
Background scan
interval — Specify how often you want the device to scan for available networks. To reduce battery
consumption, select Never. The wireless LAN icon is displayed in the indicator area when a network is found.
