Starting a cold engine

POTENTIAL HAZARD
Freezing control cables in cold weather.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
You could be unable to control the vehi-
cle, which could lead to an accident or
collision.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
When riding in cold weather, always
make sure all control cables work
smoothly before you begin riding.
1. Apply the brake.
2. Shift the drive select lever into the neutral
position.
