Exchanging data with another computer

To transfer a large amount of information between computers, you
can use the Windows 98 Briefcase or a specialized synchroniza
tion program and the computer's serial, parallel, or infrared ports.
♦ To transfer files using the serial port, use a null modem serial
cable.
♦ To transfer files using the parallel port, use a LapLink®-type
parallel cable.
♦ To transfer files using the infrared port, use another computer
with a compatible internal or external infrared port and the nec
essary software. Windows 98 provides Fast Infrared port
(4Mbps) support for IrDA-compliant devices.
To transfer files:
