TRANSPORTING YOUR TRACTOR
TOWING IS NOT
RECOMMENDED.
As
with any hydraulic
power
transmission, internal
damage can result when vehicle
is towed. Push tractor by
hand only short
distances with
controls
as follows:
1.
Drive Control Lever
in "N"
neutral.
2.
By-Pass Valve in "OPEN" position.
3.
Parking
Brake Handle
pushed down to "UN LOCK" posi-
tion.
Use trailer to transport tractor for long distances.

ACROSS ANY SLOPE.
1.
Avoid stopping on
hills.
a.
If
slowing is necessary, pull Drive Control
Lever
back
slowly.
b. If
stopping is
necessary,
pull Drive Control Lever to
neutral.
c.
Engage Parking
Brake.
d.
To resume
travel
push Drive Control Lever
slowly for-
ward.
e. Release Parking Brake
as forward
movement begins.
2.

STARTING YOUR TRACTOR
WITH A LOW BATTERY
If
your Battery is too low to start the engine, it should
be
recharged.
If "Jumper
Cables" are used for emergency starting
follow this procedure. NOTE: YOUR
TRACTOR IS EQUIP-
PED
WITH A
12
VOLT
NEGATIVE GROUNDED
SYSTEM.
THE
OTHER VEHICLE MUST ALSO BE
A
12
VO LT
NEGATIVE
GROUNDED SYSTEM.
A
LEAD-ACID BATTERIES GENERATE
EX-
PLOSIVE
GASES.
KEEP SPARKS, FLAME,
AND
SMOKING MATERI
ALS
AWAY
FROM
BATTERIES.
ALWAYS SHIELD EYES
AROUND
BATTERIES.
1.Connect
each
end of the RED cable to the
F"OSITIVE
(+)
terminals
of
each battery (taking care not to short against
chassis).
2.Connect
one
end of the BLACK cable to the NEGATIVE
(-)
terminal
of "GOOD" battery.
3.Connect
the
other
end
of the cable to ENG INE
BLOCK
of
good CHASSIS GROUND on tractor (away
.
from
Gas
Tank or Battery).
4.Disconnect
cables in reverse
order:
a. Engine Block
or
chassis.
b.
Negative
terminal
of
"GOOD"
battery.
c. Positive
terminals.

NOT
USE YOUR
TRACTOR

TO
START OTHER VEHICLES.
MAINTENANCE

To
keep your
tractor
running better,
longer; perform neces-
sary service
using the following
Maintenance
Schedule
and
the
Service
Hour
Meter {Fig.
16) on the tractor dash.
The Service Hour
Meter records
the
number
of hours of
tractor operation. Read the
Hour
(Red
Hand)
on the
outer
dia
l;
each
mark
indicating
one
hour
of
operation. Read the
Sixty
Hour
(Yellow
Hand) on the inner dial; each mark
in-
dicating sixty
hours
of
operation. The
System Indicator
~White
Hand) moves visibly when the Ignition Key is
in
the
'oN" position,
indicating
the system operational. It is nor-
mal for
this
hand to continue to turn for a shwt period of
time
after
the
Ignition Key
is turned to the
'OFF'
posi-
tion.
