4.PARK
BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
If
the Parking Brake will not hold tractor, Parking Brake
adjustment is
necessary.
a.
Remove
Cotter
Pin
and
Clevis Pin from Yoke (Fig.
32).
b. Turn Yoke
one full turn
clockwise on Parking Brake
Rod.
Replace
Yoke
on
Brake Arm and secure with
Clevis Pin.
c. Place
by-pass
valve handle (Fig.
34A)
in
the "OPEN"
position.
d. With
parking
brake
handle in
"LOCK"
position (Fig.
34A) L.H.
rear tire should slide
when tractor
is
pushed.
If tire
does not slide, repeat steps
a and b.
e. Replace
Cotter
Pin
in
Clevis Pin.
f. Rotate
by-pass
handle(Fig. 34A) to"CLOSE" position.
g.
If tractor is
to
be
operated, push down on parking
brake
handle
to
"UN LOCK"
brake.
5.CARBURETOR
ADJUSTMENT
If Engine lacks power or does not idle
properly,
the
Car-
buretor may need adjustment.
a. Main Fuel (High Speed) Screw
(Fig.
33)
should notre-
quire adjustment.
If
resetting
is
necessary, turn clock-
wise,
closing finger tight ONLY, then
turn
counterclock-
wise 1-
1/4
turn.
b. Turn Idle Adjusting Needle (Fig.
33)
clockwi~e.
closing
finger
tight
ONLY,
and
then turn counterclockwise
one turn.
c. Start Engine
and
allow to warm for
five
minutes.
d. Make
final adjustments
with Engine running and
Drive
Control Lever
in
Neutral position.

Turn Idle
Ad~usting
Needle counterclockwise
until
Engine
runs
'rough" then clockwise until
Engine
begins
to
miss. Return Needle
to
a
point midway
bP.-
tween these extremes.
--
Throttle Stop
Screw
(Fig.
33) should
not
requ
ire ad-
justment. If
resetting is necessary,
set
to obtain
the
slowest
engine
speed that
will
allow smooth accellera·
tion.
6.
BELT
REPLACEMENT
a. Remove Belt
from
Clutch Idler by
depressing
Clutch·
Brake Pedal (Fig. 34)
.
b. Remove Belt Guide from Engine Pulley.
c. Remove Belt Guide Weldment
from
Pump
Pul
ley.
d. Loosen
Flat
Idler Assembly on R.H.
side of
Tractor
Frame.
e. Remove Belt
from
Engine Pulley,
between
Belt
Guide
Finger (note position of Belt) and Flat
Idler,
and Pump
Pu
lley.
f.
Place new Belt around Pump Pulley.
Then
place
Belt
between Belt Guide Finger and
Flat
Idler and then
around Engine Pulley.
g. Depress Clutch-Brake Pedal and
slip
Belt over the
top of
the Clutch Idler.
h.
Replace
Engine Pulley
Belt Guide and Pump Pulley
Belt
Guide Weldment.
Tighten
Flat Idler Assembly.
NOTE:
Make sure
Belt
Guide
Finger
on Flat
Idler
is parallel with
slot
