Push Clutch-Brake
Pedal
into
"BRAKE"
position (Fig.
14).
6.
Move Throttle Control Lever to middle position (Fig.
15).
7.
Pull Choke out
(Fig.
15).
8.
Turn Ignition Key to "START" position until Engine
starts (Fig.
15).
Release key into
"ON" position.
NOTE: DO NOT RUN STARTER CONTINUOUSLY
FOR MORE THAN THIRTY SECONDS AT A TIME. If
engine does not start after several attempts, move throttle
Control
Lever
to
"F"
fast
position,
wait a
few
minutes, and
try
again.
NOTE:
The
Power Assist Lift Switch (Fig. 15) raises or
lowers
an attachment when used
with
an Electric Three
Point Hitch
(optional equipment).
WARMING UP THE ENGINE
Move
Throttle
Control Lever to
"s"
slow pos1t1on
.
Push
Choke in as engine warms. NOTE:
ALLOW
ENGINE TO
WARM
UP
FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE
OPE~ATING
.
When restarting a warm engine, move
Throttle
Control Lever
in middle position,
Choke may not have to be used.
ALWAYS WEAR SUBSTANTIAL FOOT-
WEAR AND AVOID LOOSE
FITTING
CLOTHING
THAT COULD GET CAUGHT
IN
MOVING PARTS.
LEARN TO
START, STOP AND
REVERSE
YOUR TRACTOR IN A LARGE,
OPEN
SPACE.
TRACTOR OPERATION
1.
With
engine
running and
warm, move
Throttle
Control
Lever
to
middle position.
2.
Push down on Parking Brake Handle to "UN LOCK"
position.
3.
Press Button (Fig. 12) on
Drive
Control
Lever
and slowly
move
Lever
forward and tractor will begin to move.
THE DRIVE CONTROL LEVER IS SEN-
SITIVE
TO THE
SLIGHTEST MOVEMENT.
MOVE
DRIVE
CONTROL
LEVER SLOW-
LY.
4.
Adjust Throttle Control Lever to desired engine speed so
that
engine is not overloaded.
NOTE: Always operate power-driven equipment such as Ro-
tary Mower, Snow
Thrower,
etc. at
full
Throttle
speed
unless
otherwise specified in the attachment Owners Manual. Always
select a safe ground
travel
speed
that
will suit the terrain and
the attachment being used.
5.
To back-up, return
Drive
Control Lever to "N" neutral
position
and
tractor
will stop. Reduce
Throttle
Control
Lever to
"SLOW" position, pull Drive Control Lever back
slowly.
NEVER PLACE
YOUR HANDS OR FEET
IN
OR
UNDER ANY POWERED ATTACH-
MENT
OR NEAR ANY MOVING PART
WHILE TRACTOR OR ANY POWERED
ATTACHMENT IS RUNNING.

MAKE
SURE
PARKING BRAKE WILL

HOLD
TRACTOR SECURE.
5.
Turn Ignition Key
to
"OFF" position.
REMOVE KEY WHEN LEAVING
TRAC-
TOR TO PREVENT UNAUTHORIZED USE.
NOTE: USE CLUTCH-BRAKE PEDAL FOR EMERGENCY
STOPS
ONLY.
FOR NORMAL STOPS, RETURN DRIVE
CONTROL LEVER TO NEUTRAL BY HAND DEPRESSING
THE CLUTCH-BRAKE PEDAL HALF-WAY DECLUTCHES
THE TRACTOR AS LONG AS THE PEDAL
IS
HELD
IN THIS POSITION. WHEN FOOT IS REMOVED FROM
PEDAL, TRACTOR
WILL RETURN TO
TRAVELI
NG
SPEED.
NEVER USE FOOT PEDAL
AS A CLUTCH
TO
SLOW
TRACTOR. ALWAYS
PUSH
CLUTCH-BRAKE
PEDAL
ALL THE WAY
FORWARD SO THAT DRIVE
CONTROL
LEVER
RETURNS
TO
NEUTRAL.
