UPDATING YOUR SONIM DEVICE

To ensure your Sonim XP5560 performs efficiently,
update the device's software and firmware as newer
versions of these become available.
Requirements:
Sonim device
•
SD card with at least 100 MB free space to perform
•
an update
Device with at least 50% battery charge
•
4G PTT subscription (test requires approximately
•
32 MB data download)
Backing Up Content
Complete these steps before performing the update
on your device.
Note: 4G PTT contacts are saved on the SaskTel server
and will be restored after logging back into your 4G
Push-to-Talk service.
CONTACTS
Select Menu > Phone book.

Go to Phone tab > Options > Mark several

or Mark all.
Options > Backup contacts > Select Yes.

Select Memory card > Highlight Others >

Options > Select.
Enter a file name (ex. Backup12042013) >

Options > Done.
MMS MESSAGES
Go To Menu > Messages > Inbox.

Find the MMS message you wish to back up.

Select Options > Copy to memory card > Yes.

Note: This makes a copy and you will see the same
MMS twice in the Inbox.

SMS MESSAGES
Select Menu > Messages > Inbox.

Find the SMS message you wish to back up.

Select Options > Advanced > Copy to SIM.

Note: The same procedure applies to Sent messages for
both SMS and MMS messages.
MULTIMEDIA FILES (AUDIO, IMAGES OR VIDEO)
Go to Menu > My files > Phone > Images.

Select Options > Mark several or Mark all.

Options > Copy Marked.

Open Memory card > Highlight Images.

BROWSER BOOKMARKS
Select Menu > Browser > Bookmarks > Select
