ON/OFF CONTROL

Press the on/off control. This will
also operate the unit for up to one
hour with the ignition turned off.
The radio will switch off
automatically after one hour.

VOLUME CONTROL

Use this control to raise or lower the
volume of the current audio source
at any time. When you make an
adjustment, the display indicates the
selected volume level.

BASS/TREBLE CONTROL

All units, except the 1500, have
controls to adjust bass or treble
response.
On Sony Generation 2 units you may
adjust these settings separately for
each source (CD/Radio/Aux).
Press the button once for bass or
twice for treble (Sony Generation
2 units have a mid option
between bass and treble - three
key presses are required to
access the treble setting).
Use the volume control or on
some units the left or right arrow
button
On Sony CD and Sony 6CD use
the up or down arrow button to
make the necessary adjustment.
The display indicates the level
selected.

Audio unit operation

BALANCE/FADE
CONTROL
The FADE control is used to adjust
the sound distribution from front to
rear in vehicles equipped with rear
speakers.
The BALANCE control is used to
adjust the sound distribution between
the left and right speakers.
Press the button once for fade or
twice for balance.
Use the volume control or on
some units the left or right arrow
button to make the necessary
adjustment.
On Sony CD and Sony 6CD, use
the up or down arrow button for
fade adjustment, and the left or
right arrow button for balance
adjustment.
The display indicates the level
selected.

PHONE MUTE CONTROL

Where available, press the
PHONE button to mute your audio
unit.
Press PHONE again to unmute.
