Congratulations on the purchase of your new JACOB JENSEN
Telephone 1.
The telephone is designed in Denmark by Jacob Jensen,
whose products have gained international recognition for
their original, simple and classic design. Jacob Jensen has
received about 100 prizes from around the world and has
19 products included in The Design Study Collection and The
Design Collection of The Museum of Modern Art in New
York.
The JACOB JENSEN
Telephone 1 is suitable for connection
TM
to the public network. The telephone can either stand or be
mounted on the wall and is equipped with a memory for
11 numbers, mute function and high or low ringing tone
adjustment.

Installation

Table stand

The telephone is supplied with a table stand which you
attach as the following:
1. Slide the canals of the table stand into the tracks of the
base. The table stand is mounted when you hear a click.
2. Fit the modular contact of the coiled cord into the plug of
the handset.
3. Connect the telephone line to the wall outlet.

Wall mounting

The telephone can be mounted on the wall by. Proceed as
follows:
1. Disconnect the coiled cord from the handset.
2. Push the button inside the square hole under the modular
jack using a pen or a finger, and pull the bracket away
from the base at the same time.
3. Pull the telephone line cord downwards through the
groove in order to let it out at the bottom and connect it
to the wall outlet.
4. Reconnect the coiled cord.
5. Place the telephone on the screws already mounted on the
wall (use the template, fig. 4 on page 3).
How to make a telephone call

To lift off the handset, gently press on the upper part of the
handset with your index finger and the handset falls into
your hand.
a. Lift off the handset and wait for the dialling tone.
b. Dial the telephone number.
c. Put down the handset when the conversation is over.

Hook switch

The telephone is equipped with a magnetic hook switch. To
get a new dial tone you can simply press the
Redial
If you wish to redial the last dialled telephone number, you
can use the
key and this number is dialled automatically.
This number will be stored until the next time a telephone
call is made.
Notice: Numbers larger than 31 digits cannot be stored.
One- and two-touch numbers
The telephone has a memory for 11 numbers of max. 21
digits. To store numbers in the memory, proceed as follows:
One-touch number:
a. Lift off the handset or press
b. Press
c. Press
d. Enter the telephone number you wish to store.
e. Press
f. Hang up the handset or press
Two-touch numbers:
a. Lift off the handset or press
b. Press
c. Press
d. Press 0-9 to select a location.
e. Enter the telephone number you wish to store.
f. Press
and hang up the handset or press
A pause can be inserted when storing numbers in the
memory e.g. when calling through a switchboard (PABX).
To insert a pause press the
Automatic dialling
One-touch number:
Lift off the handset or press
and press

Two-touch numbers:
Lift off the handset or press
press
and the selected location 0-9.

Mute function
When the MUTE button on the handset is pressed and held
down the microphone is disconnected. When the button is
released, the microphone is activated again.
Ringing melody and volume
The telephone has 3 ringing melodies and loudness levels.
To change melody and loudness level. Proceed as follows:
a. Pick up the handset or press
b. Press
c. Press
d. Select by using the numeric keys (please see fig. 3 page 3).
Note: The telephone is preset to combination no. 6.
R-key
The R-key is used for connecting a telephone call using a
switchboard (PABX) and at some special services offered by
the telephone company.
Cleaning
Clean the telephone by using a soft cloth. Do not use
aggressive chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong detergents.
