LISTENING TO THE
WEATHER BAND
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA) uses 7 frequen-
cies to broadcast local forecasts and re-
gional weather information. We have
preprogrammed your scanner with these
frequencies.
Note: For a list of all 7 national weather
frequencies, see "National Weather Fre-
quencies" on Page 22.
To scan the preprogrammed weather
channels, press

Weather Alert
Your scanner's weather alert feature can
warn you when your local weather sta-
tion broadcasts a severe weather emer-
gency signal. (See "Testing Alert Tone").
