Cause and Remedy
Batteries are nearing exhaustion. Have a fresh one
ready.
Batteries are just about exhausted.Turn the power
off and replace battery with new one.
Film is not correctly positioned. Reload film.
Non-DX-coded film or film with unacceptable DX
code is loaded although auto film speed setting
mode is activated. Set film speed manually.
Camera back is opened during film rewind and film
rewind will stop at mid-roll. To restart film rewind,
press the IN button and Ps button.
An exposed DX-coded film left in the film cartridge
chamber. Remove film cartridge.

Cause and Remedy
Matrix meter is set even though lens attached has
no CPU; camera automatically resets metering
system to Centre-Weighted metering.
Auto-Multi Program or Shutter-Priority Auto
exposure mode is set even though lens attached
has no CPU. Camera automatically resets exposure
mode to Aperture-Priority Auto.
Vari-Program is set even though lens attached has
no CPU.
Lens is not set to the smallest aperture setting. Set
lens to the smallest aperture.
Attached Speedlight is not set at TTL Auto flash. Set
the Speedlight flash mode to TTL, or set the
camera's exposure to a mode other than
Programmed Auto.
