    To check if the bracket is installed and engaged properly, carefully tip the range forward. The bracket should stop the range within 4 inches. If it does not, the bracket must be reinstalled. If the range is pulled from the wall for any reason, always repeat this procedure to verify the range is properly secured by the anti-tip bracket.

    To avoid spillovers, make sure cookware is large enough to contain the food properly. This will both save cleaning time and prevent hazardous accumulations of food, since heavy spattering or spillovers left on range can ignite. Use pans with handles that can be easily grasped and remain cool.

    Oven Vent Your oven is vented through ducts at the rear of the range. Do not block these ducts when cooking in the oven—it is important that the flow of hot air from the oven and fresh air to the oven burner be uninterrupted.

    Care and cleaning of the range. Be sure electrical power is off and all surfaces are cool before cleaning any part of the range. WARNING: be sure the anti-tip device is re-engaged properly when the range is replaced. Failure to take this precaution could result in tipping of the range and cause injury.

    After cleaning, dry them thoroughly by putting them in a warm oven for a few minutes. Don’t put the grates back on the range while they are wet. When replacing the grates, be sure they are positioned securely over the burners.

    Air openings are located at the rear of the cooktop, at the top and bottom of the oven door, and at the bottom of the range, under the broiler drawer. The control knobs may be removed for easier cleaning.

    Provide adequate clearances between the range and adjacent combustible surfaces. These dimensions must be met for safe use of your range. The location of the electrical outlet and pipe opening (see Gas Pipe and Electric Outlet Locations) may be adjusted to meet specific requirements.

    The National Electrical Code requires the use of GFCI’s in kitchen receptacles installed to serve countertop surfaces. Performance of the range will not be affected if operated on a GFCI-protected circuit but occasional nuisance tripping of the GFCI breaker is possible.
