Device Information
Long-Term Storage
When you do not plan to use the
device for several months, remove the
batteries. Stored data is not lost when
batteries are removed.
Alkaline Battery Pack
The Alkaline battery pack is an
optional accessory. The Alkaline
battery pack uses alkaline, NiMH, or
lithium batteries. This is especially
handy when you are on the trail and
cannot charge the lithium-ion battery
pack. Use NiMH or lithium batteries
for best results.

Installing the Alkaline Battery Pack
1. Turn the D-ring counter-clockwise,
and remove the lithium-ion battery
pack.
2. Lift the latch on the Alkaline
battery pack to open the battery
compartment.
3. Insert four AA batteries, observing
polarity.
4. Replace the battery cover, and turn
the D-ring clockwise.
5. Select Setup > System > Battery
type.
6. Select Alkaline, Lithium, or
Rechargeable NiMH.
