Hydra HD Quick Reference Guide
Thank you for using Entone's Hydra High Definition Multi-Television Video Gateway. This quick
reference gives quick instruction for setting up and using Hydra. For detailed setup and usage
instruction, please refer to the Hydra HD User's Guide and the URC Plus User's Guide in
http://www.entone.com.
Check that the video output connector of the Hydra is properly connected to the input connector of the
TV(s).
In your TV, select the input source that the Hydra is used.
"MATV OUTPUT" by default uses CATV channel ID 10, 23 and 39 for decoder 1, 2 and 3 respectively.
"TV OUT" for decoder 1 by default uses CATV channel ID 10.
Check that you have connected Hydra "ETHERNET" to your network access device. For details of
connecting Hydra to the network, please refer to your service provider.
If you have an external hard drive, connect the external hard drive using the eSATA cable. External hard
drive requires separate power supply. Power up the external hard drive before powering up Hydra.
Software upgrade is required when you power up Hydra for the first time. Software upgrade may take 5-
10 minutes. Do not power off during software upgrade.
Install the two AA batteries (provided) into the remote control.
This 3 mode Universal Remote Control can be programmed to control your Hydra and up to two other
devices. The remotes can be set up by following these simple instructions.

If your Hydra has the URC PLUS logo on the top right side of the front panel, it
only works with the remote control with the URC PLUS logo.
