The Stereo control can be used to create artificial stereo effects. It works
as follows: The more the control is turned from the 0 position, the greater
the difference between the left and right channel cutoff frequency values
becomes. For example, when the Cutoff frequency value is 440 hz and the
Stereo control is set to 0, the Cutoff frequency of both the left and right
channels is set to 440 Hz. Alternatively, if the value of the Stereo control is
set to 1.0, then the actual cutoff frequency of the left channel will be
approximately 6 semitones below the Cutoff frequency setting (about 310
Hz), and right channel will be approximately 6 semitones above the Cutoff
frequency setting (about 620 Hz) . This means that if the Stereo control is
set to its maximum value, then the difference between the cutoff
frequencies of the left and right channels will be one octave. In general,
small values (around 0.1 to 0.5) produce the best results.
Cutoff is used to set the frequency (in Hz) of the lowest "notch" in the comb
filter.
Resonance is used to set the amount of emphasis around the cutoff
frequency. Higher settings create a more pronounced peak in the signal
while lower settings produce a flatter response.
Tracking is used to control the degree to which the filter tracks the signal's
frequency.
Env is used to set the degree to which the filter's envelope effects the
signal. Setting Env to 0.00 means that the envelope has no effect on the
filter. Setting Env to 1.00 means that the filter is modulated by the
envelope's full range.
The Envelope Direction button is used to set either a positive or negative
envelope shape. This can be used for a range of effects including opening
the filter when a note is released (this is impossible with a non-inverted
envelope).
The Vel (Velocity) control is used to set the degree to which the filter's
cutoff frequency is modulated by the note-on velocity of the MIDI input
signal.
