Using multiple enclosures wired in parallel
Parallel connections to additional
cabinets will result in decreased
impedance loads on the amplifier.
To prevent amplifier damage, be
aware of cabinet impedances and
the limitations of the amplifier in
use before connecting additional
speaker cabinets . Two 8-ohm
speaker cabinets connected in
parallel provide a 4-ohm load to
the amplifier. Four 8-ohm speaker
cabinets provide a 2-ohm load to
the amplifier, which can be too low
for some amplifiers and can result
in decreased performance and
overheating of the amplifier.

Bi-Amplification / Tri-Amplification

The MX Series two way speakers feature a selectable bi-amp mode (two separate amplifier
channels for low frequency and high frequency signals to the woofer and high frequency
driver of each speaker enclosure). This requires an external active crossover network to
provide a low and high frequency line level output to dedicated low and high frequency
amplifiers for proper processing of the low/high frequency portions of the audio signal. Use
with a separate subwoofer will allow for system tri-amp applications (Separate amplifier
channels for low frequency signals to the subwoofer(s), with separate mid-range frequency
and high frequency amp channels for the mid range drivers and high frequency drivers of
each two way speaker enclosure).
To obtain the best sounding setting for the performance environment and related mid range
and high frequency speakers, consult the manufacturer's operating instructions for the
active crossover and amplifiers that are in use.
