M o u n t i n g / R i g g i n g Read and heed all warnings and safety instructions in the supplied "EAW Loudspeaker Manual" before using this product. Failure to follow this precaution may result in equipment damage, personal injury, or death.
S o f t w a r e P r o g r a m 5.4.1 EAWPILOT EAWPilot is software for controlling the digital signal processing (DSP) for multiple EAW products. Use the EAWPilot to apply user-adjustable signal processing to the overall array. The interface provides standard DSP functions, including parametric equalization, high/low shelving, low- and high-pass filtering, level, and signal delay.
The two, identical, locking Neutrik EtherCon connectors on the rear of each JF combine a RJ45 connector with a locking shell. They are designed for connecting EAW’s audio and control signals between additional JF s and other U-Net enabled devices. Either connector may be used as the ports are bi-directional.
AC MAINS SUPPLY WARNING: Read all instruction and cautionary notes concerning electrical power in the “EAW Loudspeaker Manual”. DANGER: Ensure that the AC mains voltage matches the voltage rating listed on the loudspeaker next to the AC Mains connector. DO NOT APPLY...
CAUTION: The supplied AC mains plug may not be appropriate for local AC mains receptacles. If not, have a qualified electrician remove the existing AC mains plug and install a plug appropriate for the AC mains supply receptacle and following all local codes. WARNING: Ensure that AC power supply has a properly grounded safety ground.
Section 7 Operation 7 . 1 O p e r a t i n g L i m i t s While the JF processing includes robust driver and amplifier protection algorithms and circuits, it is ultimately the responsibility of the audio system operator to operate the loudspeakers within their capabilities.
CAUTION: Electronic limiters cannot provide absolute protection against driver failure. Thus, if limiting is occurring, it is a warning that excessive signal levels are being approached. It is NOT an indication that the loudspeaker is successfully protecting itself. 7.3.4 AMPLIFIER STATUS The AMPLIFIER STATUS indicator monitors the status of each of the two amplifiers in the full- range and subwoofer models.
and U-Net Send), as well as System Gain and Rear Speaker DSP settings for each individual loudspeaker. 7.4.2 LIMITERS loudspeakers have built-in, factory-set limiting. The limiter characteristics and settings were determined to provide the maximum protection possible, to minimize the sonic effects, and to integrate closely with the amplifier capabilities.
Connect one of the U-Net ports on the UX8800’s rear panel to a U-Net port on the JF . If there are more than one Ethernet , connect the other U-Net port EAWPILOT on the JF to the next JF and so on.
7.6.2 STANDBY JUMPER Use these dry contacts to remotely control the operational status of the loudspeaker’s electronics. Short the contacts to place the amplifiers in standby mode. This disables the high voltage rails powering the amplifiers, muting the system and reducing power consumption when the system is not being used.
These include the drivers and amplifier module. All other service and repair information must be obtained by contacting the EAW Service Department or the service department of the EAW Distributor for your country. See the “EAW Loudspeaker Manual”...

IMPORTANT: When reconnecting the signal wires to the driver, connect the colored wire to the plus (+) terminal and the black wire to the (-) minus terminal. 8.4.3 KF200X The drivers can be field serviced by replacing the entire driver or having the driver repaired (such as diaphragm replacement) by a qualified service technician.
Turn the mounting screw clockwise, pushing against the loudspeaker and forcing the amplifier’s corner out. If the amplifier remains fixed to the gasket it may be necessary to jack another corner away from the loudspeaker. Once free, carefully lift the amplifier from the loudspeaker ELECTRICAL LEAD COUPLING and disconnect the electrical leads at the coupling.
Section 9 Block Diagram B l o c k D i a g r a m This is a block diagram of an JF Full-Range with an JF subwoofer. A full-range input signal is connected to the full-range loudspeaker and looped through to the subwoofer, as shown. Alternately, the full-range input can be connected to the subwoofer and looped through to the full-range loudspeaker.
