TeleType GPS Navigation Software Version 022005 TeleType Co. TeleType GPS software is the most flexible and fully featured GPS enabled mapping software available for Windows CE and Pocket PC. The same software also supports desktop and laptop systems. TeleType offers a variety of software & receiver combinations for worldwide land, air, and water navigation.
This product should not be used to determine ground proximity for aircraft navigation. For use in vehicles and vessels, it is the sole responsibility of the owner/operator of the TeleType GPS to place and secure the GPS unit so that it will not interfere with the vehicle operating controls and safety devices, obstruct the driver's or captain's view of driving/marine conditions, or cause damage or personal injury in the event of an accident.
4. Install program to PDA (see Software Documentation) 5. Activate the TeleType GPS Pro application on the PC. 6. Using the Manage Maps function, transfer the maps you would like to use on your PDA. See Exporting Marine Charts for more information on transferring both street and marine maps. (Note: This requires an Active Sync connection) 7.
Steps: 1. If you have not installed TeleType GPS Pro program, please refer back to the TeleType GPS Pro program manual for instructions on installing the software. If you installed TeleType GPS Pro program, please proceed to step 2.
In some cases you may prefer to connect an external antenna and place it in such an area. Please note that TeleType GPS receivers are neither waterproof nor water resistant. If no antenna is available, you may need to try areas below deck that still have a view of the sky or protect your unit accordingly.
This window will allow you to transfer the maps for all or part of a US state, Canadian province, and all of a European country to the PDA. The Refresh button allows TeleType GPS software to recognize the PDA if it was not synchronized before opening this window.
Note that you cannot export marine maps to the PDA using the Transfer function. Instead, use the Manage Maps feature to export marine maps to your PDA. Manage Maps window Load all the maps you wish to use on your mobile device into the TeleType GPS software on your PC (See Loading Marine Maps).
Aviation Navigation Selecting Aviation Navigation will allow you to load and view aviation maps. Note that you must purchase Aviation maps from TeleType GPS for this function to work. For more information on available settings, refer to the Aviation Manual.
There are several different methods to load maps using your TeleType GPS Pro software: To load maps, open the TeleType GPS software. You should see a base map showing city points in your country. • Aerial will load a satellite photo of the area, displaying an overhead view of the terrian. Weather, Traffic, Topographic, and Aerial maps are Add-ons that need to be purchased separately from TeleType GPS. On your laptop/desktop, draw a box around an area you wish to load using the left mouse button or stylus.
During install, maps are copied to the hard drive but still need to be loaded into the TeleType GPS software as described above so you can view them. To accommodate the limited memory on PDA devices, maps are only installed to the desktop computer.
Loading Marine Maps section. In order to use Marine Maps, you must have purchased the Marine Maps Add-On from TeleType GPS.
