If you wish to eject a disc without waiting for it to auto-eject, press
on the Linntek Control Utility. If this fails to eject the disc or if you
wish to eject the disc and do not have immediate access to the
Linntek Control Utility, the 'hard eject' can be activated. To do this,
insert a pin, a straightened paper-clip or a similar implement into the
small pin-hole underneath the disc-drive slot to push the micro-switch
concealed within.
If you are using an Internet connection to access the Gracenote
CDDB Service, you will have to instruct the Akurate Music Server to
go online and access the service. To do this, right-click on an album
or track and select G G o o o o n n l l i i n n e e a a n n d d l l o o o o k k u u p p .
If you have not configured the Akurate Music Server to access the
Gracenote CDDB Service, or if you have but the CD you are ripping is
not included on the Gracenote CDDB Service, the CD will be shown
on your Linntek Control Utility screen as Artist or New Artist.
When the Akurate Music Server has finished ripping a track, the
symbol is shown next to the track title. This indicates that the track
can be played. If the
symbol is shown beside a track, this
indicates that the track has not yet finished ripping, has not ripped
correctly (perhaps the disc is dirty, damaged or corrupted) or has not
been recognised as a CD audio track.
You can listen to albums/tracks on the Akurate Music Server while it is
ripping a CD.
The Akurate Music Server is compatible with recordable and re-
recordable CDs. This feature allows you to rip radio broadcasts or
other recordings that you have stored on CD-R/CD-RWs. It is the
responsibility of the owner of the Akurate Music Server to ensure that
they are not in breach of any copyright laws in regard to ripping radio
broadcasts or any other material. Ripped radio broadcasts will
generally not be identifiable by the Gracenote CDDB Service.

Compression

The Akurate Music Server can be configured to compress the audio
signal from a CD while it is ripping. Compressing the audio signal
allows more CDs to be ripped on to your storage device, however,
adding compression reduces sound quality. Please note, ripping time
is longer if compression is added.
