I
Place a tape with its record tab intact (see page five) in the
TV/VCR.
The power will come on. Or, if the tape is already in
the TV/VCR,
press the POWER
button
to turn on the
TV/VC
R, if necessary.

Press the SPEED
button until the desired tape speed
appears on the TV/VCR
screen. Details about tape speed are given
below.

Use the CH(annel)
_/_
button or the Number
buttons
to
select the channel
to be recorded.
(Channels cannot be changed
during recording.)

Press the REC(ord)/OTR
button once to start recording.
The
REC(ord) light will glow,
t If there is not a tape in the TV/VCR, NO CASSETTE flashes on the
screen briefly.
If the tape does not have a record tab, PROTECTED CASSE'i-I-E
CANNOT
RECORD flasheson the screen briefly.The'l-V/VCR
will eject the tape. Insert another tape.

To pause the recording (for example, during commercials),
press the PAUSE/STILL button. The REC(ord) lightwill flash. T o
resume recording, press the PAUSE/STILL button again or
the REC(ord)/OTR
button. The REC(ord) lightwill glow.

To stop recording, press the ST•PlY
button.
Tape Speeds
This chart shows the recording/playback time for three types of
video cassettes (T 160,T120, and T60).There are three playback
speeds:SP,LP,and SLP.During playback,theVCR selects the tape
speed automatically.When recording, you can changethe tape
speed using the SPEEDbutton.You cannot record in LP speed.

You cannot record one channel while
watching another.

• If you pause a recording for more
than five minutes, the TV/VCR will
switch to Stop mode automatically
to protect the video cassette tape
from damage.
Youcan change the tape speed with
the SPEED button while a recording
is in progress, but some distortion
may appear on the tape.
