These instructions are intended to apply in the United Kingdom only, and should be followed along with any other statutory obligations. - Page 4 There are two types of motorised valve used in domestic heating systems: two port (also called zone valves), and three port (also called mid position valves). Salus Controls offers both types of valve in a range of standard port sizes.

Salus SPMV22 Manual 014_Layout 1 03/04/2012 14:19 Page 6 OPERATION Two way valves This type of two way motorised valve has port A normally closed with no power to the valve. When power is applied to the motor, the valve will open fully allowing water to flow from port A to port B. - Page 7 Salus SPMV22 Manual 014_Layout 1 03/04/2012 14:19 Page 7 MANUAL LEVER There is a lever on the side of the actuator cover: this lever allows manual operation of the valve, e.g. for refilling and draining of the system. The lever allows both ports A and B to be open at the same time.
