These instructions are intended to apply in the United Kingdom only, and should be followed along with any other statutory obligations. - Page 4 There are two types of motorised valve used in domestic heating systems: two port (also called zone valves), and three port (also called mid position valves). Salus Controls offers both types of valve in a range of standard port sizes.

Salus SPMV32 (3 port 22mm) Manual.qxd:Layout 1 9/1/11 09:48 Page 6 OPERATION Three way valves This type of three way motorised valve has port A normally closed with no power to the valve. In this state, water can flow from port AB to port B. When the electrical supply is activated, the actuator motor overcomes the force of the internal spring and closes port B. - Page 7 Salus SPMV32 (3 port 22mm) Manual.qxd:Layout 1 9/1/11 09:48 Page 7 MANUAL LEVER There is a lever on the side of the actuator cover: this lever allows manual operation of the valve, e.g. for refilling and draining of the system or if the actuator fails.
