If i t is necessary to move refrigerator through narrow doorways, follow
these steps to remove refrigerator and freezer handles and/or doors.
To Remove Handles
Full- l_x3th T rim
i Usingaputtyknife, carefully s lidecorner oftheblade under trim.Slideblade
cbwnuntil youfindtrimlock. Carefully m aneuver bladeagainst trimlockfrom
theside,as shown. Note: Pressingdown on trimlock fromabove willnot
_it.
2 Carefullypushputtyknifefirmlyag_insttrimlock, andtwistgently. Trimlockwill
snapfreefrcmdoor.(Each trimpiece w ilihavetwotrimlocks. )
3.Grasptrim, andpullupawayfromhandleusingaslight s ide-to-sidemotion.
& Removescrewsattaching handletodoor.
Repeatthesestepsforeachhandle end.Keepscrewsandtrimpieces.
6.To replace h andles, lineuphandle withscrewhsles, i nsert screws andtighten.
Slide upperandlower trimpieces backonhandle ends, andsnaptrimlocks back
intoholes cndcorfrcnt.
To Remove Doors
Beforeremoving doors, be surefreezer crmtrolisturnedtoOFF.Removeallfood
frcmdcors, a ndur£olugrefrigerator. Remove tcegrill.
Trace around thehinges witha softleadpencil. Thiswill makeiteasier torealign
thedoorswhentheyarereplaced.Cobol etelyremoveonedoorbeforestarting
removal oftheother.
FreezerDoor:
k Remove toegrill.(See Outside in"Care andCleaning "secticn.)
Z Remove wiring coverlocated overlower hingeoffreezer door.Cbver isheldin
placebya sir_le s cm%_. (Illustraticn i)
3.Dis<rmnectwiringharnessplug (ccrmector). Positicnyourselftobeabletoplace
yourthumbs ontheflatsides of eachccrmector p iece. Bendhothparts backand
forth. Thenwitha firmgrasp, pullthetwopieces apart.(lllustraticnl)
Todisccrmect water line, holdwater l ine elkowandpushincngraycollar, forcing
elbowdown,offfromtubethatrunsintodoor.
5.Place astrip oftapealcng doorbottom, overlower hinge andupthesideofdcor.
Thiswillholdhingeinplacewhendoorisremoved.
6.Removet_tD_ boltof lowerhinge.Loosen,butDO NOTREMOVEbottombolt of
lower hinge.
7.Removetophingecover by iift ingbackof coverandslidingforward. Remove
hinge screws fromhinge bracket witha counter-clockwise moticn. Note:Hinge
hasminimalspringtension. Holdbracketwhenremovinglastscrew.DO NOT
removehingebracketfromdoor.
8.Carefullyliftdsorupandofflcosenedlowerhingebolt. (Illustraticn2)
Refrigerator Door:
L Removetophingecover by iift ingbackof coverandslidingforward. Remove
hinge screws fromhinge bracket withacounter-clockwise moticn. Note:Hinge
hasminimalspringtension. Holdbracketwhenremovinglastscrew.DO NOT
removehingebracketfromdoor.
Z Remove_ boltof lowerhinge.Loosen,butDO NOTREMOVEbottombolt of
lower hinge.
Carefully l iftdcorupandoffloosened lower hinge bolt.
Store dcors inasafe place until refrigerator ismoved todesired locat ion. Keep all
for reinstallaticn.
TO Reinstall Doors
Toreinstall d cors, r_se instructicms usedtoremove chors. Note:Toreinstall
waterline, pushelbowup, ontodoortube,untilcollar touches tubeinkmarkas
sh_wnleft.
