into neutral
position, set parking
brake, stop engine
and remove

Engine
Refer to the Engine OperatodOwneCs Manual for
engine maintenance instructions.
Checkengine oil level beforeeachuseas instructedin
the EngineOperator/Owner'sManualpackedwith your
unit, Follow the instructionscarefully.
Changing
Engine Oil
NOTE:Dependingon the engine modelfoundon your
tractor,it may be necessaryto removethe tractor'sside
panel in order to replacethe oil filter (if so equipped),
Fordraining oil fromtheengine's crankcase ofselect
modeltractors, a plasticoil drainsleeve is packed withthis
Operator's ManualTodraintheoil,proceedasfollows:
1, Unscrewthe oil fill capand removethe dipstickfrom
the oil fill tube,
2, Snapthe small end of oil drain sleeveontothe oil
sump,See Figure14,
3, Removedrain plugand drain oil intoa suitable
containerwith a capacityof no lessthan 64 oz,
4, Servicethe oil filter (if soequipped)as instructed
in the separateEngineOperator/Owner'sManual
packedwith yourunit,
Performthe abovestepsin the oppositeorder afteroil
hasfinisheddraining,
5, Refillthe enginewith newmotoroil as instructedin
the EngineOperator/Owner'sManualpackedwith
IMPORTANT: R eferto the EngineOperator/Owner's
Manualpackedwith yourunit for informationregardingthe
quantityand properweightof motoroil
Air Cteaner
Servicethe pre=cleaner, i f so equipped,and cartridge/air
cleanerelementas instructedin the EngineOperator/
Owner'sManualpackedwith your unit,
Spark PJug
Thespark plug shouldbe cleanedand the gap reset once
a season,Sparkplug replacementis recommended at
the startof each mowingseason,Referto the Engine
Operator/Owner's Manualfor correctplugtype and gap
specifications,
Lubrication

Lubricatethe enginewith motoroil as instructedin the

Pivot Points & Linkage
Lubricateall the pivotpointson the drivesystem,parking
brakeand lift linkageat least oncea seasonwith lightoil
Rear Wheets
The rearwheelsshouldbe removedfrom the axles once
a season,Lubricatethe axles and the rimswell with an
all=purpose greasebeforere=installing t hem,
Front AxJes
Thefront wheelsshouldbe removedfrom the axles once
a season,Lubricatethe axles and the rimswell with an
all=purpose greasebeforere=installing t hem,
C_eaning the Engine
And
Deck
Anyfuel or oil spilledon the machineshouldbe wiped
off promptly,DoNOT allowdebristo accumulate around
the coolingfins of the engine or on anyotherpart of the
machine,
IMPORTANT: T he useof a pressurewasherto cleanyour
tractoris NOT recommended, I t maycause damageto
electricalcomponents,spindles,pulleys,bearingsor the
engine,
