Appendix A: Setting the IP Address

Most MC Color users will never have to set a static Internet Protocol (IP) address
but in the rare cases that require it, the MC Mix does allow for it.
Normally MC Color uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to obtain its
IP address, typically from a router. MC Color will revert to link-local addressing to
generate an IP address if a DHCP server is not found on the network, such as when
an MC Color is connected directly to a computer with an Ethernet cable. Both of
these methods of obtaining IP addresses can be overridden by supplying a static
IP address, which MC Color uses in all cases when powered on.
CAUTION: Attempt this only if you have prior experience configuring a network.
To set a static IP address:
1. Press and hold both PAGE keys while powering up MC Color.
2. Turn the leftmost Soft Knob to change the Use DHCP value from yes to no.
Figure A-1 shows the Use DHCP screen on MC Color's display screen.
