EXTENSION
CORDS
Use proper extension cords withthis Pole
Saw. Use onlyextension cords markedfor
outdoor use. The cordmustbe markedwith
suffix W or W-A following thecordtype
designation.
Example:SJTW-A orsyrw.
Use proper size cordwiththis saw.Cord
must be heavy enough to carry current
needed. A n undersized cord will cause volt-
age dropatsaw.Saw will lose power and
overheat. Follow cord size requ£rements
listed below.

Keep cordaway from cuUingarea. Make

POLE LENGTH
The Remington Pole Saw hasa tele,_oping

inches (fully retracted) to 96 inches (fully
extended). A threaded c ompression cou-
pling is used to hold the
pole in position at
any extended length.
1. To extend t he pole, l oosen coupling b y
turning coupling nut €ountemlockwise
asshown inFigure 8.Polewill slide
freely.
2. Pull inner polesection outto desired
length ofexteusinn. Note: Only extend
pole to minimum length required to
reach limbthat i sbeing cut.
3. To lockpoleinposition,
tighten cou-
pling b yturning coupling nu_clockwise
(see Figure 8) un_ _mIy hand tight.
Maim sure saw handle is alignedwith
pole handle before tightening coupling
nut. IMPOFfFANT:Do not use wrench
or pliers to ove_ghtea coupling. Dam-
age to coupling or pole may result.

OILING CHAIN
To oil chain, press o il cap. O il will f eed onto
guide barandchain. P ress oil cap at least
oncebefore each cut. A lwayscheck oil l evel
before u sing Pole Saw.Checkoillevei

level hole is on left side of saw, between
front handle and front hand guard. Do not
attempt to operate the oiler while cutting
with the Pole Saw.
CUTTING WiTH THE POLE
SAW

Connectsaw to extension cord_ Con-
nect extension cord to power supply.
2.
Use beth hands to grip Pole Saw. Use
only designated grip areaswhen oper_
atingPole Saw (see Fignre 9). Use firm
grip. Thumbs and fingers must wrap
around Pole Saw handle and pole.

Make s_e your footing is firm. Keep
feet apart. Divide your weight evenly
on both feet.
4.
Whea reedy tomake acat, press i ntrig-
gerswitch lock-out andsqueeze _g-
ger switch (see Figure 10). T hiswill
turnPoleSaw on.Releasing u -igger
switch will turn PoleSaw off. M ake
suresaw isrunning atfull s peed be-
fore starling
acot.
5. When starting a cut, place moving
chain against w ood. Hold PoleSaw
firmly inplace t o avoid p ossible
bounc-
ing orskating (sideways mo,iameat) of
saw.

GuidePoleSaw using light pressure.
Do notforce P ole Saw.Themotorwill
overload a ndcanbum out. Itwill do
the jobbetter andsafer a tthe rate for
whichit wasintended.

Remove Pole Saw froma cut with saw
running a tfull s peed. Stop Pole Saw
by releasing
trigger.
Make surechain
hasstopped before setting PoleSaw
down.
