Controlling ProScan::VCRs with Remote

The advanced ProScan universal remote controls your TV
and up to two compatible Proscan VCRs or any other
brands listed on page 32. The VCR2.LDbutton can also
control a compatible ProScan/RCA laserdisc player.
To control a compatible VCR,
first press the VCR1or VCR2"LD
button to put the remote in the "VCR mode". The buttons
shown below will then control the VCR.
Select models of VCRs have a switch that lets you determine which
VCR will be controlled by the VCR1 b utton, and which VCR by the VCR2
button. Other models have an on-screen menu that lets you determine if
it will be controlled by veto or WZR2. Some older VCRs have a
NOIqM/UNIFIED s witch that can also r_ spond to either the
VCR1
or VCR2
butlon on the remote. Place this switch in the UNIFIED position for the
VCR to respond to the vcR1 button ,)r in the NORMposition for the VeR2
butlon. In the NORMposition, you must program the ¢CR2button to
respond to coce number 05.
The buttons, shown below de not operate all functions on all
VCRs. You may only be able to control your VCR's basic
functions.

POWER BUT[ON
Press to turn off VCR.
PLAY BUFrON
Press to start tape playing.
R_VIND BUII'ONPress while VCR is
stopped to rewind tape. Press while
VCR is playing to search backward. In
VCR2-LD mode this button backward
scans a laserdisk.
RECORDBUTTON
Press to record. It is not
necessary to press PLAY and RECORD.
DISPLAY B uTr0N Press to display VCR's
on-screen messages.
NUMBER BUTTONS
Press two numbers to
se]ect VCR channel. On some brands,
press a "0" before a single-digit channel
number.
CLrAR
BUTTON i s used when setting the
VCR's clock and programming its
timer.
PROGRAM
BUTTON i S used when setting the
clock and programming the timer.
VCR1 AND VCE2 BUTr0NS
Press
to turn on
VCR and pat remote in "VCR Mode" so
other buttons will control the VCR. Press
the zv button to put remote back into "TV
Mode".
Press while VCR is
stopped Io 5ast forward tape. Press while
VCR is playing to search forward. In
VCR2-LD
mode this button forward scans a
laserdisk.
PAUSE BUT-I0N Press to
pause
PLAY or
RECORD
mcde. Press again to release
pause.
STOP BU'I-rON Press to stop whatever VCR
is doing: playing, recording, rewinding,
or fast forwarding.
CHANNEL IJP OR DOWN BUTTONS
Press to select
next higher or lower channel in VCR's
channel m_mory.
ANTENNA BUI-ION
Press to change
TV/VCR
switch on VCR to other position.
