Using
the
Playback
Features
Picture
Search
You can search a picture
during
playback
by fast forwarding
or rewinding
the
tape.
Sound is turned
off during
picture
search.
The picture
is best for tapes
recorded
in the SP or SLP speed.
Fast Forward Search
1. During playback
press FF on the remote or FWD
on the VCR to search forward
at a faster-than-
normal
speed.
2. To return to playback, press FF on the remote,
FWD on the VCR, or PLAY.
Rewind
Search
1. During playback, press REW to search in reverse
at a faster-than-normal
speed.
2. To return to playback
press REWoor PLAY.

JOG
SHUTTLE
and
Arrow
( _ o _ ) Buttons
on Remote
You can also use the JOG SHUTTLE and arrow ( _
) buttons on the remote
to
search a picture
during playback.
Turning
on ,JOG SHUTTLE (the light in the middle
of the arrow buttons
turns on) enables you to search forward
and backward
through
a tape while in the PLAY or STILL mode.
Sound is turned off during picture search and frame advance.
Tapes recorded in SP
or SLP speed give the best picture.
Shuttle
Control
When the VCR is playing
a tape, press JOG SHUTTLE to have the VCR enter the still
mode.
STILL appears
in the display
panel.
1. Press
_ and release to search forward
slowly.
The
speed is increased
with each press of the _ button.
As the speed increases,
the display
changes from
SLOW+ to SRCH+.
Pressing the <_ button
decreases the speed. Press PLAY to return to normal
playback and turn off jog shuttle.

Press Q and release to search in reverse slowly.
The
speed is increased
with each press of the
_] button.
As the speed increases,
the display changes from
SLOW- to $RCH-.
Pressing
[_ decreases
the
reverse speed.
Press PLAY to return to normal
playback and turn off jog shuttle.

Advance)
When you turn on JOG SHUTTLE during playback, you are in the STILL mode.
From this mode, you can advance
the tape flame by frame.
1. Press /', to advance or _
to reverse the picture
one frame at a time. The display
switches between
STILL and SLOW- or SLOW+. Press PLAY or PAUSE
to return to normal playback and turn off jog shuttle.
