Understanding
the On-Screen
Displays
_ur
TV provides all on-screen summary of the current settings for the TV
or cable channels,
as well as the information
related to Television Data
Services (TVDS). TVDS allows broadcasters to supply you with the current
time, channel information
(such as call letters and the network name), and
program information (such as the program name and program description).
To view this information,
press the display button (DISP) on the remote
control repeatedly. This section describesthe
displays in the order that they
Occur.

This setting indicates the following:
call letters,
input source(channel
number),
*
stereo and/or SAP are available for
reception on this channel,
this channel is programmed into super
quick view memory,
e
PIP input source (when selecting PIP
image), and
time.

S-VIDEO

This setting indicates the following:
input source (external source),
S-VHS cable has been connected to
TV,
PIP input source
(when selecting
PIP image), and
time.

This shows you where the network
name and program name will appear
if the broadcaster
is supplying that
information via TVDS.
This shows you where the program
description will appear if the broad-
caster is supplying that information
via TVDS.
D Important:
If the broadcaster is not supplying information via TVDS, then the message
of no data will appear
("No Name Available"
"No Description Avail-
able").
Additionally,
the "call letters" will be blank, unless you have set
them with the "Name the channels"
feature.
