Animage compression method. Inthis camera, select from -k_-k(Best),
-k-k(Better), or-k(Good). Images recorded inJPEG f ormat are suited for
viewing onyour c omputer orforattaching toe-mail.
ND (Neutral Density) Filter
Afilter a vailable indifferent saturation levels that a djusts thebrightness
without affecting the color t one ofpictures.
Noise R eduction
Process toreduce noise ( image roughness orunevenness) caused by
slow shutter speed o rhigh sensitivity shooting.
NTSC/PAL
These a re video o utput formats. NTSC i smainly used inJapan, North
America, and South K orea. PAL ismainly used i nEurope and inChina.
Quality L evel
This refers totheimage c ompression ratio. The lower the compression,
the more d etailed the image. The image b ecomes rougher asthe
compression rate rises.
RAW data
Unedited image d ata output from the CMOS s ensor. RAW data are data
before being i nternally processed bythecamera. Camera settings atthe
time ofcapture, such asWhite B alance, Contrast, Saturation, and
Sharpness can beset f oreach f rame a fter shooting. Inaddition, RAW data
are12bitdata that c ontain 16times t he information of8bitJPEG data.
Rich g radations are possible. Transfer RAW data toyour c omputer and
use the provided software tocreate i mage d ata with different settings,
such asJPEG.

Recorded Pixels
Indicates the size of the image by the number of pixels. The more pixels
that compose a picture, the larger the image size.
Shutter Speed
The length of time that the shutter is open and light strikes the CMOS
sensor. The amount of light that strikes the CMOS sensor can be changed
by altering the shutter speed.
