AWARNING
BEFORE LIGHTING [PROPANE (L.P,) GAS WATER
HEATERS]:Propane(I-R) gasisheavierthan air. Shouldthere
be a leak in the system,the gaswill settle near the ground.
Basements,crawl spaces, s kirted areas under mobile homes
(evenwhenventilated), c losets and areasbelowgroundlevelwill
serve as pockets for the accumulation of this gas. Before
attemptingto light or relight the water heater's pilot or turning
on a nearbyelectricallightswitch,be absolutely surethere isno
accumulated gasin the area.Searchfor odorof gasbysniffing at
groundlevelin the vicinityof the appliance. I f odor isdetected,
followstepsindicatedat "For YourSafety"onthe coverpageof
thismanualthen leavethe premises.
Lighting and operating instructions are located on front of" the
water heater, above or to one side of the gas control valve.

AWARNING
DO NOT force the gascontrol knob. Use only your hand to
pushit downto lightthe pilot,or to turn it to "ON", "OFF"
or "PILOT". Never use a tool suchas a lever,wrench or pli-
ers. Do not hit or damage the knob. A damagedknob may
result in an explosionand serious injury. If you haveproblem
turning the knob, callthe gassupplierimmediately.
