PICTURE-IN-PICTURE
(PIP)
FREEZE (FRZ) button (With PIP ON)
If you wish to freeze the sub-picture, press the FRZ button. This is convenient when trying to write down the address for a mail
order company, recording statistics for a sporting event, etc. To return the picture to motion, press the FRZ button again.

The FREEZE function will only operate when SINGLE PiP mode is chosen.

Pressthe FRZ buttontofreeze one or fourframesofthepicture,depending on themodepreviously selected(SINGLEor STROBE).
To change FREEZE modes,use cursor• or • to selectwhichtype of FREEZE mode you wish to view. The new selectionwill
appearthe nexttime the FREEZE function is used.
SINGLE FREEZE
Press the FRZ button to freeze one frame of the pictureyou are currentlyviewing. Press this button again or PIP to retum to normal
viewing.
STROBE FREEZE
Pressthe FRZ buttonto freeze fourframesof the pic.ture you are currently viewing. Press this buttonagain or PIP to returnto
normalviewing. This feature is usefulfor viewinga movingpicturethat has manydetails,for example,a close play in a sporting
evento.rg01f s wing.

A pattem bum may develop if the sub-picture is left in the same comer permanently. If the PIP feature is used I
frequently, occasionally MOVE the sub-picture to a different comer.
You may also vary its position using the

CURSOR <, I_, •, or • buttons.
NOTES:
Only sound from the main picture can be heard, unless you choose sub-picture audio from THEATER-WIRELESS
SOUND mode and use the WIRELESS OUT outputs on the rear panel. (See page 77.)
Each freeze frame is delayed about 0.1 (1/10) second.
The FREEZE function will display blank sub-pictures when the COMPONENT: Y-CbC r Input 2 source is set as main
channel.
