The ideal position to locate the EP101 programmable heating controller is about 1.5m above floor level. It should be mounted in a location where the controller is easily accessible, reasonably lit and free from extremes of temperature.

The installer should select the jumper positions required if changes need to be made to the factory default settings.

  • Page 9 Salus EP101 Manual 001:89 21/11/10 11:49 Page 9 USER INTERFACE AND CONTROLS The status and operation of the EP101 can be clearly seen on the large backlit Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) - this display allows the user to see at a glance the current status of the heating system.
  • Page 10 Salus EP101 Manual 001:89 21/11/10 11:49 Page 10 OPERATION The EP101 is configured and adjusted by the use of an intuitive user interface with a minimal number of user controls. The backlit LCD gives a highly visible, easily readable indication of the controller status.

There are four operating modes for the controller: ON, ONCE, AUTO and OFF The mode can be changed when the controller is in NORMAL mode by pressing the MODE key.

When the EP101 is in Normal mode, pressing the BACKLIGHT/HOLIDAY key for 3 seconds or longer allows you to turn on the holiday override mode.
