HOW TO USE YOUR TRACTOR
Yourtractoris equippedwith an oporator
presencesensingswitch.When engine is
r0nning,any attempt bythe operatorto
leave the seat withoutfirstsettingthe
parkingbrake willshut offthe engine.
TO SET PARKING BRAKE
• Depressclutch/brake pedal intofull
"BRAKE" positionand hold.
Placeparkingbrake leverin "EN-
GAGED"position, and releasepressure
from clutch/brake pedal. Pedal should
remainin "BRAKE" position.Make sure
parkingbrakewill holdtractorsecure.

STOPPING
MOWER BLADES
• To stop mower blades, move attach-
ment clutch Lever to "DISENGAGED"
position.

• Move motion control lever to neutral (N)
position.
IMPORTANT: The motion control lever
does not retum to neutral (N) position
when the clutcl'Ubrake pedal is depressed.
ENGINE
• Move throttle control to slow position.
NOTE: Failure to move throttle control to
slow p_
an_-allowing engine to idle
before stopping may cause engine to
"backfire".

• Never use choketo stopengine.
IMPORTANT:Leavingthe ignition switch
in any positionotherthan "OFF' will cause
the batteryto be discharged(dead).
NOTE: Undercertainconditions when
tractoris standingidle withthe engine run-
ning,hot engineexhaustgases may
cause "browning" ofgrass.To eliminate
this possibility, alwaysstopenginewhen
stopping tractoron grass areas.

THROTTLE CONTROL
Alwaysoperateengine at full throttle.
• Operatingengine at lessthan full throt-
tle reducesthe batterychargingrate.
• Full throttle offersthe bestbaggingand
mower performance.
TO MOVE FORWARD AND BACKWARD
The directionand speed of movementis
controlledby the motioncontrollever.
• Start tractorwith motioncontrollever in
neutral (N) position.
• Release parkingbrake and clutch/brake
p_lal.
• Slowlymove motioncontrollever to
desired position.
NOTE: The effortto movethe motioncon-
trol leverwill reduceafterthefirst few
hoursof use. This;S normal.
TO ADJUST MOWER CUTTING HEIGHT
The position of the attachmentliftlever
determinesthe cuttingheight.
• Grasp lilt lever.
• Pressplungerwith thumband move
leverto desiredposition.
The cuttingheightrangeis approximately
1-1/2 to 4". The heightsare measured
from the groundtothe bladetipwiththe
engine not running. T hese heightsare
approximateand may very depending
uponsoilconditions, heightofgrass and
typesof grass beingmowed.
