CUSTOMER
RESPONSIBILITIES
DRIVE WHEELS
(See Fig. 17)
Check rear orwe wneels each time you mow to be sure they
move freely. The wheels not turning freely means trash,
grass cuttings, etc.. may be inside the drive wheel and dust
cover area and must be cleaned out to free drive wheels.
If necessary to clean
the drive wheels, check both rear
wheels.
Remove hubcaps and Iocknuts.
Remove wheels from wneeJ aajuster axles.
Remove any trasn or grass cuttings frorr inside the
dust cover, pinion and/or drive wheel gear teeth.
If you remove the drive pinions and pawls, be sure not
to damage the pinion seal upon reinstalling the pinions.
Clean and lubricate
with grease before reinstalling.
Refer to Fig. 18 for correct assembly of drive pawl.
The 3inion gear must be installed with the left gear on
the left side and with the right gear on the nght side,
from an ooerator's view.
The olnfon gear is stamoed with an "L" (left) or "R"
[ngn U on the inside.
If installed incorrectly, the drive
system will not work.
Place wheels back on aujus_er axJes.
Replace Iocknuts and hubcaps.
NOTE:
Pinions and drive pawls should De cleaned and
lubricated with grease approximately
every 25 hours or
once a year.
