2. Move thro_e control lever to slow
position. Wifh linger,rotate and hold
throttlelever against idlespeed screw.
Tum idle speed screw to attain 1750
RPM,
3. While slillholding throttle lever against
idle speed screw, tam idle mixture valve
full travel clockwise then counterclock-
wise until engine rune rough. Tum valve
to a point midway between thosetwo
positions. Releasethrottle lever.
ACCELERATION TEST -
4. Move throttle control lever from slow to
fast pos'_on. If engine hesitates or dies,
turn idlemixture valve out (counterclock-
wise) 1/8 tom. Repeat test and continue
to adjust, if neceseary, until engine
accelerates smoothly.
High speed stop is factory adjusted. Do not
adjust- damage may result.
IMPORTANT: Never tamper with the engine
governor, which is factory set thr proper
engine speed. Overspoeding the engine
above the factory high speed setting can be
dangerous. If you think the engine..govemed
high speed needs adjusting, contact a Sears
or other qualitied service center, which has
proper equipment and experience to make
any necessary adjustments.
