TO ADJUST ATTACHMENT CLUTCH (See
Fig, 27)
The electric clutch should provide year'.; of service, The
clutch has a bultAn brake that stops the pulley within 5
seconds. Eventually, the internal brake will wear which
may cause the mower blades to not engage, or, to not stoo
as required. Adius_ments should be made byyour nearest

Make sure attachment clutch and ignmon switches are
in "OFF" position
Adjust the three nylon ioeknuis unti space between
clutch plate and rotor measures .0!2" at all three slot
locations cut in the side of brake plate.
NOTE: After instaling a new electric clutch, run tractor at
full throttle and engage and disengage electric clutch 10
cycles to wear in clutch plate,

Your tractor is equiPDed wth art adjustable brake system
which is mounted on the right side of the transaxle.
if tractor requires more than six (6) feet stopping distance
at high speed in highest gear. then brake must be adjusted.
Depress dutch/brake pedal and engage parking brake.
Measure distance between brake )perating arm and
nut "A" on brake rod
If distance is other than 1-3/4'L loosen am nut and turn
nut "A" until dist_nce becomes I-3/4". Refign_en jam
nut against nut "A'L
Road test tractor for proper stopping distance as stated
above Readlust if necessary, If stopping distance is
still greate, than sl_ (6) feet il hiqhest 9ear. further
maintenance _snecessaq,, Contact your nearest au-
thorized service cenLer.

Park the tractor on lew_l surface Engage parking brake.
For assist _nce. there is a belt instalation guide decal on
bottom side ef left footrest.
Remove mower ISee "TO REMOVE MOWER" in this
section of this manual.)
Disconnect clutch wire harness.
Remove c!utoh lecator.
Remove upper belt Keeper.
Remove belt from stationary idler and clutching idler.
Pull be!t slack toward rear of tractor. Carefully remove
belt upwards from transmission input pulley ana over
cooling fan blades.
Pull belt toward front of tractor and remove downwards
from around electnc clutch.
Install new belt by reversing above proceaure
iMPORTANT: MAKE SURE UPPF_R 3ELT KEEPER IS
POSITIONED PROPERLY BETWEEN LOOATQR TABS
AND ELECTRIC CLUTCH W,RE CONNECTION IS
SECURE
