Cameratakes time to turn on: Delete files or folders.
Shutter-releasedisabled:
• Memory card is locked, full, or not inserted (_ 24, 29, 22).
• Built-in flash is charging (_ 32).
• Camera is not in focus (_ 31).
• CPU lens with aperture ring attached but aperture not locked at highest f-number (_ 194).
• Non-CPU lens is attached but camera is not in mode M (_ 195).
• Release locked is selected for Custom Setting f4 (No memory card?, _ 164).
Finalphotois larger than areashownin viewfinder:Viewfinder horizontal and vertical frame coverage
is approximately 95%.
Photosare out of focus:
• AF-S or AF-I lens is not attached: use AF-S or AF-I lens or focus manually.
• Camera unable to focus using autofocus: use manual focus or focus lock (_ 58, 60).
• Camera is in manual focus mode: focus manually (_ 60).
Focus doesnot Iockwhen shutter-releasebutton is pressed halfway: Use AE-L/AF-L button to lock focus
when AF-C focus mode is selected or when photographing moving subjects in AF-Amode.
Cannot selectfocuspoint:
• Auto-area selected for AF-area mode: choose another mode (_ 56).
• Face priority or subject tracking AF selected in live view (_ 43).
• Press shutter-release button halfway to turn monitor off or activate exposure meters (_ 29).

•llluminator has turned off automatically, llluminator may become hot with continued use;
wait for lamp to cool down.

• Replace battery in remote control (_ 203).
• Choose remote control mode (_ 65, 67).
• Flash is charging (_ 32).
• Time selected for Custom Setting c4 (Remote on duration) has passed: reselect remote
control mode (_ 157).
• Bright light is interfering with remote.
