• Macro mode (_
33) is enabled and the camera
automatically
zooms to the closest position at which it can
fOCUS.
• The closest distance at which the camera can focus varies
depending
on the zoom position.
The camera can focus on subjects as dose as 3 cm (1.2 in.) to the lens when the zoom
indicator
is positioned to the [eft of,_'_, and _ and the zoom indicator glow green.
When the zoom indicator is aligned with ,_"_, the camera can focus at a distance of 4 cm
(1.6 in.).
• AF area mode is set to Manual
(_] 45). Choose the focus area in which the camera
focuses. Press the _) button and then rotate the rotary multi selector, or press A, V, _1,
or i_, to select a different focus area. Press the _) button again to lock the selected focus
area. Flash mode and exposure compensation
settings can be adjusted and the self-timer
can be enabled while the focus area is locked.
• The camera focuses continuously
until focus is locked by pressing the shutter-release
button
halfway.
• As pictures are easily affected by camera shake, be sure that Vibration
reduction

129) is enabled and hold the camera steadily.
