The selfftimer function is useful when you wish to have your picture taken, such as
when taking memorial pictures, and for reducing the effects of camera shake that
occurs when tile shutter release button is pressed. When using tile selfitimer} use of a
tripod is recommended. Turn Vibration
reduction ([_ 143) off when using a tripod.

Press _Q)(self-timer).
• The self-timer menu isdisplayed.

Use the
multi
selector
to choose
los
or 2s and
press
the
_)
button.
• los (ten seconds): suitable for memorial portraits.
• 2s (two seconds): suitable for preventing camera shake.
• The mode selected for serf timer is displayed.
• Ifa setting is not applied by pressing the _) button
within a few seconds, the selection will be cancelled.

Frame
the
picture
and
press the
shutter-release
button
halfway.
• Focus and exposure will be set.

Press the
shutter-release
button
the
rest of the way
down.
• The self-timer starts, and the number of
seconds remaining until the shutter is
released is displayed in the monitor. The self-
timer lamp will blink. The lamp stops blinking
one second before the picture is taken and
remains lit until the shutter is released.
• When the shutter is released, the serf timer
turns OFF.
• To stop the timer before a picture is taken,
press the shutter-release button again.
