Lifting
1.Place vehicle inpark, w ithemergency brake on
andwheels securely c hocked t oprevent
accidental vehicle movement.
2.Locate andclose release valvebyturning handle
clockwise, firmly. P osition j acksaddle under lift
point.
3.Verify liftpoint, t henpumphandle tocontact l ift
point. T olift,pump handle until l oadreaches
desired height.
Note:Model 5 0238 features a 2speed hydraulic
system thatallows theliftarmtoberaised tothelift
pointin 1or 2 strokes ofthehandle. Aftertheloadis
contacted, 2 or3 additional pumps mayberequired
tofillthelowpressure cavity ofthehydraulic s ystem
andbegin thehighpressure, load liftingprocess a t
approximately .5"-.75"inches perfullhandle
stroke. M odel 5 0234 features afoot(orhand)
operated pedal t hatisintegral tothepumppiston
assembly. Thisallows theusertoraisethejack
saddle tocontact t heloadwithout p umping t hrough
thefullarcoftheoperating h andle.
4.Transfer theloadimmediately toappropriately
rated jackstands.
CAUTION: Usethehandle provided w iththisproduct
oranauthorized replacement handle toensure
proper r elease valve operation. When using tolift
vehicle, liftonlyonthe manufacturer's
recommended liftpoints. R efer t oyourvehicle
owner's m anual.
Lowering
1.Raise loadhighenough toclearthejackstands,
thencarefully r emove those jackstands (always
usedinpairs).
2.Slowly turnthehandle counterclockwise,
butno
morethan1/2turn.If theload failstolower:
a.Useanother jacktoraisethevehicle high
enough tore-install jackstands.
b.Remove t heaffected j ackandthenthestands.
c. Using theotherjack,lower theloadbyturning
theoperating h andle counter-clockwise,
butno
morethan1/2fullturn.
Important: U seonlyagoodgrade hydraulic j ackoil.
Avoid mixing different types offluidandNEVER use
brake fluid, t urbine oil,transmission fluid,motor oilor
glycerin. Improper fluidcancause failure ofthejack
andthepotential forsudden andimmediate l ossof
load.
Addingoil
1.Withsaddle fullylowered andpump piston fully
depressed, setjackinitsupright, l evel p osition.
Locate andremove oilfillerplug/screw.
2. Fillwithoiluntil j ustbelowtherimoftheoilfiller
plug hole.Reinstall theoilfillerplug/screw.
Changingoil
Forbestperformance andlongest life,replace the
complete f luidsupply atleast o nceperyear.
1.Withsaddle fullylowered andpump piston fully
depressed, remove theoilfillerplug/screw.
2.Laythejackonitssideanddrain thefluidintoa
suitable container.
Note:Dispose ofhydraulic f luidinaccordance
withlocal r egulations.
3. Fillwithoiluntil j ustbelowtherimoftheoilfiller
plug hole.Reinstall theoilfillerplug/screw.
Lubrication
1.A periodic c oating oflightlubricating o iltopivot
points, a xles andhinges willhelptoprevent r ust
andassure thatwheels, casters andpump
assemblies move freely.
Cleaning
Periodically check thepump piston andramfor
signs ofrustorcorrosion. Clean asneeded and
wipewithanoilycloth.
Note:Never u sesandpaper or abrasive m aterial on
thesesurfaces !
Storage
Whennotinuse,storethejackwithpumppiston
andramfullyretracted.
