REPLACING BATTERY
_kWARNING: Do notshort battery'terminals
by allowing a wrench or any other object to
contact both terminals at the same time.
Before connecting battery, remove metal
bracelets, wristwatch
bands, rings, etc.
Positive terminal must be connected first to
preventsparking from accidental grounding.

Lift hood to raised position.
2. Disconnect BLACK battery cable (A) then
RED battery cable and carefully remove
battery from tractor.
3. tnstalI new battery with terminals insame
position as old battery.
4. First connect RED battery cable (B) to
positive (+) batteryterminal with hex bolt
and keps nutas shown. Tighten securely.
Slide terminal cover ((3)over terminal,
5. Connect BLACKgrounding cable to neg-
ative (-) battery terminal with remaining
hex bolt and keps nut. Tighten securely.
6.
Close hood.

TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT BULB
1. Raise hood,
2. Remove bulb holderfrom the hole in the
backside of the grill.
3. Replace bulb in holder and install bulb
holder securely back into the hole in the
backside of the grill.
4. Close hood.
INTERLOCKS AND RELAYS
Loose or damaged wiring may cause your
tractor to run poorly, stop running, or prevent
it from starting.
• Check wiring.
TO REPLACE FUSE
Replace with 30 amp automotive-type plug-
in fuse. The fuse holder is located behind
the dash.
TO REMOVE HOOD AND GRILL AS-
SEMBLY
1. Raise hood.
2. Unsnap headlightwire connector.
3. Stand in front oftractor. Grasp hood at
sides, tilt toward engine and lift off of
tractor,
4. When replacing hood, be sure to recon-
nect the headlight wire connector.
TRANSMISSION
REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT
Shouldyourtransmission requireremovalfor
sewice or replacement, itshould be purged
after reinstallation and before operating the
tractor. See "PURGE TRANSMISSION" in
the Operation section of this manual.

TO ADJUST
THROTTLE
CONTROL
CABLE
The throttle control has been preset at
the factory and adjustment should not be
necessary Check adjustment as described
below before loosening cable. If adjustment
is necessary, see engine manual,
TO ADJUST CHOKE CONTROL
The choke control has been preset at
the factory and adjustment should not be
necessary. If adjustment is necessary, see
engine manual.
TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
Your carburetor has been preset at the factory
and adjustment should not be necessary.
However, minoradjustment maybe required
to compensate for differences in fuel, tem-
perature, altitude or load. If the engine does
need adjustment, see engine manual.
