BIOS Beep Codes
Whenever a recoverable error occurs during POST, the BIOS causes the board's
speaker to beep an error message describing the problem (see Table 48).

One 0.5 second beep when BIOS is ready to
accept keyboard input
Rising and falling tones with on 0.5 seconds
followed by off 0.25 seconds and repeat with
next tone then 1 second off after highest tone
then repeat sequence with falling tones.
Play 3 times for 0.5 seconds on then off for 0.25
seconds
On 1.0 second then off for 0.5 seconds will
repeat until system shutdown
On-off (1.0 second each) two times, then
2.5-second pause (off), entire pattern repeats
(beeps and pause) once and the BIOS will
continue to boot.
On-off (1.0 second each) three times, then
2.5-second pause (off), entire pattern repeats
(beeps and pause) until the system is powered
off.
Alternate high and low beeps (1.0 second each)
for eight beeps, followed by system shut down.
